Target Audience
This activity is designed for anesthesiologists, anesthesiologists-in-training, anesthesia investigators, and allied health professionals who conduct research, practice, or intend to practice in any area of general anesthesia, subspecialty anesthesia, or pain management.

Learning Objectives
After having completed this activity, you will be able to:
  1. Identify how mass cytometry is used in the prediction of surgical site complications.
  2. Recognize the common risk factors for the development of Perioperative Respiratory Adverse Events (PRAE) in Children.
  3. Recognize what measures can be undertaken to mitigate the risk of developing PRAE.
  4. Appreciate the modifying effect of elastance on the association of tidal volume and postoperative respiratory complications.
  5. Individualize ventilation strategies based on patient's characteristics. 
  6. Consider patient lung mechanics when choosing the suitable tidal volume and driving pressure during intraoperative mechanical ventilation.
